On 1st June the Rt Revd Nick Baines presented 4 awards at Lambeth Palace.  Gillian Hush, chair of the judging panel, announced the winners.

Premier Award

Witness, Episode 4 - Tested (BBC Drama and BBC Religion & Ethics  for BBC Radio 4)

Producers Jonquil Panting (Drama), Rosie Dawson (Religion and Ethics); researcher Kathryn Blennerhassett; presenter of documentary Ernie Rea; executive producer Christine Morgan

Specially written dramas by Nick Warburton broadcast over a week telling the story of Jesus' life and death based on the gospel of Luke, each followed by a feature exploring aspects of the story.  Episode 4 deals with his trial and crucifixion.

In the West the fatwa is linked to the death threat to Salman Rushdie but for many  Muslims it is the bridge between the principles of their faith and modern life.  Heart and Soul investigates examples in Egypt today.
